I reviewed the K and didn't find any problems at all with it's build quality. I didn't feel that it was poorly constructed. There may have been an issue with a particular batch of Ks and that would have indeed been unfortunate but I can't honestly agree that the K is a poorly built unit.

Yeah like I was sayin' man this K station is bloody wicked. Its got everything a bloke needs...a bloody wicked on board demo u can cut and paste it into a new song. That hyper sync shit is well good man...im trying to sync it up to my arse and arppegiate something cool. Its got wicked trancy bass and really cool screamin leads...it makes my SCI Pro-One sound really boring in comparison. It can recreate my Juno 106 so well I'm gonna use it as a surf board. I love the build quality it tops just like me.

The K-station is an awesome sounding synthesizer. The "reviewer" who slagged it below is a moron. It does some fantastic sounds beyond the mainstream dance presets.

However, there were some quality construction issues with the first batch of synths, such as pitch wheels rubbing against the casing, and loose screws.

Tried this synth down at Turnkey's. First impression on the sound was that it was ok but nothing special after an hours of tinkling i got some decent pads and a few basslines out of it but overall it sounded a bit cold and unexpressive to my ears. Build quality clearly pants and regular reports of OS bugs. for 350 quid i'd rather get an A-station or an old analogue keybored which does similar sounds (read: alpha juno etc...). Dont bother with this synth it was a mistake from Novation...why do you think the KS4/6 are comin out so soon after eh ?

Yo, would love to give this thing the credit it deserves - 5 out of 5, but I have had minor problems. i.e. power adapter crapping out on me, and if i tweak a sound too much in the upper octaves, it freezes. So like the doc says, "it hurts when you do that? Well, then don't do that." I perform live at least once a week with this and it's a great complement to my guitar. Great sounds and size. I need to upgrade to os 1.0.9. One problem, i got about 100 sounds I need saved. Anyone know how to upgrade w/out losing patches? I am kind of stuck, and would like to learn how to save patches on my hard drive, or tape backup. For samples of this thing in action, visit my band's website, www.1000verticalft.com
