this machine has just replaced most of my gear(an1x,jv1080),ive written tunes using this machine alone cos its got drum sounds, bass, synth, all i need for the electroniky stuff i do.sounds are easy to tweak and change into your own,it very cool having all the fx,delays etc instead of using external fx,and theyve started appearing in the second hand adds,so theyre more affordable too..

BTW, the demo does not do it justice. With the new performances I loaded, I could be playing any of several of them in a drunken stupor and it would sound way cooler than the demo.

This really has that "analog" sound. I just installed the OS 3 Beta 10, which was reseased yesterday, and there are NO "zipper" sounds when slowly sweeping the filter or the volume. I also installed new program banks, which are apparently those found on the Nova, unless a vocoder is used. ALso loaded a new bank of performances, some of which are incredible. Instant coolness. From transparent highs to thick, thumpy lows, and anything in between (if you have imagination). btw, I also own and love a Z1, so if I can't get some wild stuff happenin', drag me away and lock me up.

The demos online are sorta bad... but my favorite by far is Superstrings.mp3. It's a tune that's actually danceable, and I hate techno/dance... Yikes. (I'm a big industrial person) Anyway... The SN is a good machine, though I would get the Z1, Nord Modular, Q, and Virus before this... But it's still amazing and if you're only going to have one synth for analog sounds, this is the one because it sequences very very well... Just look at the specs for God's sake.

The Demo on the Internet is BLOODY ATTROCIOUS, don`t download it, in fact even the factory patches are so far on the safe side that I wouldn`t hold too much stock from them either. I`ve Emailed some of my patches to Novation, I hope they include them, it may help actually dem the thing (;-). It`s a belting machine and as far as user memories are concerned there are about 500 free after wiping the crappier of the presets and I`m not sure about the other 12!. If you`re familiar with Analog synths, just make a patch of your own in the store using the traditional Analog tricks of detune etc..... you`ll buy the thing
