I have a friend who has the virus. I used it on up 5. THE NOVATION IS BETTER AND I CHOSE IT OVER SEVERAL OTHER SYNTHS INCLUDING virus b and c, nord lead 2, nord lead 3, sh-32.

to the strange person below me

I actually own most flavours of popular VA synths apart from waldorf(soon soon ;))

the SN2 can stand up to virus when u learn to programe it - it has better onboard presets too! what makes the virus stand out is the extra waveforms but since real analog synths dont have these waveforms you are basing your oppinion on the virus when it isnt really doing its analog emulation , its doing a pcm/wavetable emulation

if u want to wank over the virus then do so , me personaly think the supernova is better for analog rich sounds - it has top end also! not saying that the virus is bad - tho if u just use the basic saw/tri/pulse waves the supernova wins outright.

sorry for the virus/supernova comparison if i had a choice of one instrument to use i would go for the SN2. the to be happy i would get both :)

I have had my supernova2 rack for about 1 year now , i originally wanted a virus but didnt like the 2 month waiting list. Now they have discontinued the virus b , i picked one up for half what i paid for the supernova.

all i can say is im glad that i got the supernova when i did because the virus tho nice sounding isnt in the same league at all. my music would not have been the same with the virus - and i meen that in a bad way :)

the sounds that i make on the sn that sound so warm n fat just dont cut it on the virus. admittedly the virus has a faster sound in unison mode but the supernova is easily supreme.

dont listen to the reviews and hype , listen with your ears -- tho i still prefare my JD800 over the supernova so i can see where the other bloke is comming from also

adios

Markus a part-time user from Krems, Austria, Europe writes:
The Supernova II Pro X was my first synthesizer, and i like it very much. Even right now after a couple of months i have not explored all os 2.0 sounds and possibilities of creating sounds. The semi-weighted keyboard is the best i've ever played on, and to experiment with the vocoder is very funny. I also love to route external audio-signals to the excellent effects-section. When i bought the Supernova II i intended to use it in conjunction with my other keyboards, but now i've packed them away and only play Supernova-sounds.
