If the SNII gets a average lower than 4.0. Then all of you giving it less should die. Its a wonderfull synth and its powers are even beyond Yodas.

I have one for nearly a year and the more time i spent with this machine the more i like it. For me the presets are good but at a first listening they do not remind you of an old analogue synth. This is partly of the Fxs, try them with just a delay and you have most of the classic patches of analogue synths. Of course you can always program your own patches with ease. The only disadvantage i can find for this synth is that if you want to use it as your main synth and combine two different patches in one midi channel (like in sample+synthesis) so as to have a real fat and complex analogue sound things are getting complicated. But overall if you want to use just one patch for a midi channel then this is your synth!!

Customer Support bad? Everytime I've sent them an email, they've replied back the same day!!! I think Novation's support is first rate. You can even ring there technical support if you don't want to wait.

Steve a hobbyist user from USA writes:
First let me just state that the Novation is about the most featured packed synth you can buy. FM, supersaw, ringmod, polyphonic appreggiators, VOCODER yup its stacked with features. What's more, just about all the sound manipulation tools you will need are on the surface. Knobs switches and faders galore. Much better interface than the Virus.

However, given all the soundshaping capabilities, I am wondering why the SuperNova II sounds so sterile. All the sounds kinda sound like they are all cut from the same "novation" cloth. What I loved about the Virus is its ability to sound like a variety of synths rather than just one. punchy dynamic on one hand or warm and trancy on another. The SuperNova II sounds well, mushy in comparison. I have only been using this board for a couple of weeks so I may change my opinion but as it stands now, features wise this boards is in a class by itself, sounds wise this board is somewhat one dimensional sounding and lacking that certain organic quality the best of the current crop of VA boards have.

Learn how to make your own sounds and then you WILL love the Supernova. If your a preset-fag I can understand if you dont like it.
