I'm also into REAL techno and I have one of these blue monsters. And its superb, the amount of sounds you can create is truely amazing, just check on the 'Cave Trippy' Performance.

As with all synths you personally have to try it to see if you like it.

As for people giving it low scores for the sounds, maybe sthe sounds that it produces are not for you, but that doesn't make them bad sounds, does it? I think not.

Finally IMO its still the best synth out there at the moment.

I love this thing!!! I bought it about 8 months ago and it doesn't disappoint me at all. I also own Nord Modular, Roland synths, Korg synths, yahmaha synths, etc. and this synth still stands out.

The presets are geared a little too much towards trance and some of the other popular electronic genres (good news if this is what you want). Don't let that push you away form this monster though- it doesn't take much at all to get your own patches! I would suggest buying this thing for any studio- projest or pro!

Why are people going on about the Nord Lead? The Supernova II is simply the best VA synth on the market. 8 part multi, independent fx on every part, so on and so on. When I need a sound I just reach over tweek a few dials, apply some fx and I'm off! The sound is rich, silky and smooth and fits very well in a mix. However you have to cut low eq on some of the basses which is a testement in it self to the poweful sound from this great machine.

Chris a hobbyist user from Chicago, IL writes:
This synth is the best. The customer service is excelent. A new operating system is in its way. The sounds are incredible and the bass is awesome. The pads I can't even describe.. I got the 48 voice platinum edition and I'm gonna keep this baby for long time. If you are into electronic music like trance, techno, dance, etc get it.

Komplex a hobbyist user from UK writes:
Had mine for a while now. It's my first serious synth and it just blew me away. My only negativ e comment is the manual, for a newby into synths I would have liked a idiots guide to some of the funtions this beast performs.
