No Question the OBXa is an amazing sounding Polyphonic. Anyone who says it sounds the same as an OB-8 has never listened to both. The OBXa has got more balls and screams in a way the OB-8 (and I dare say Matrix 12) wish they could. Not to infer that the OB-8 or Matrix 12 are lesser instruments, but being higher up on the evolutionary chain they were the benificiary of improved technology which left some the grit and guts behind..in the OBXa

I've harbored a life long ambition to own an analog synth and wound up with an OBXa. I couldn't be happier. It is extremely intuitive and invites one to explore the promise of it's capabilities. It has an amazing rnage- down and dirty to atmospheric and lifting. Although I have not compared the Big Briar Voyager or Andromeda against this beast, nothing produced in the last 15 years compares. The Clavia, Korg, Roland and Waldorf fans may howl, but the OBXa can't be beat for pure analog kicks!
