Flying soaring sound.HUGE bass depth.Moogy square wave and the most wicked saw wave on the planet.Only the kids say it has wimpy bass. The electric guitar sounds that can be had from this beast...no wonder Eddie like the obxa.Dark, moody yet warm and silky...very interesting indeed. The OBXA is the king of all analogs.

The obxa is one of the finest poly synths on the planet...period.For strings and pads it is simply gorgeous and will have you drowning in analog liquid ooz that pours effortlesly from this synth. Bass sounds are superb I think I know what people mean when they say thin bass they are thinking of roland type bass and moogs but the obxa has a punchier snappier sort of bass sound that cuts through the mix add a little eq to around 100 hz area and maybe put unison on and then tell me it has a thin bass it will melt your rig. Programming is childs play because it is all layed out in front of you, this synth is a joy to sit behind and play with you would have to be brain dead not to be able to get nice sounds from this synth. I have loads of analogs from arp quadras, memory moogs, andromedas korg mono/polys atc-1s and loads of others and I think this synth is my favorite poly synth because it is such an organic sound that pours from it.For pure funk bass it is superb, for strings and pads it is amazing for sound efxs it is only so so due to lack of mod routings but it is a beautiful synth to play,to program and to own.without a doubt a 5 out of a 5,forget all the va's and softsynths they are shown as the joke they are against a real analog. Get an obxa Prince new the score when using this machine.Get one and keep it in the studio do not gig them they are delicate things and a thing of beauty.I also like the obx.

The OBXA is simply the greatest analogue poly synth of ALLTIME. It has a lush warmth and phatness that seems effortless. At the same time the bass it produces isn't only fat but it has presence in a mix. There is no other synth quite like the Oberheim OBXA. I have the DMX drum machine and DSX sequence recorder too. And they work like magic together. There will never be another synth quite like this, if you see on in excellent condition for sub $1000 GRAB IT.

The OBX-a Is much like the OBX except for some minor details which I will take over the OBX anyday. Split patching, doubling, super fat bass sounds lush strings, great b3 organ sounds, 120 preset programs 8 split 8 doubles and those beautiful curtis ships.. What more could you ask for. I have created the Swell in Tom Sawyer and Van Halens 1984 was actually split patch , along with jump, Ill wait VH and I use a kurzweil 1000px for grand piano midi to the obxa via kenton midi for the lush fat thick string sound for "love comes walkin in VH} Perfect anyone out there with these units need help creating patches plz contact me i have them all. Hey Oberheim might be an old synth however, they will never come close to making another like them, so if you own one take good care of her....
