I would disagree... I built a whole rack of these and the sound quality was abysmal. The controls were noisy, control finess simply does not exist, and control over sound is chunky and difficult. Yes these modules are cheap. But, you get what you pay for.

tell you what, you get you the craig anderton ring modulator, add a rotary octave selector for the carrier, play some crappy bass drum or bass guitar and what you get out is about five hunderd times more complex than what you put in. harmonics, distortion, and insects.
