This board is wonderful. Im a huge Quasimidi fan, and I own the 309, RavenMax, and the PolyMorph. Quasimidi sure made cool products, not redundant ones like most other mfrs. Too bad they bit dust. :( I keep hoping they well reincarnate because their products are brilliant in every way. When I got my Sirius, I fell in love, even tho I have all the other main QMidi stuff. It is totally different from the other QM products, yet similar in quality of build and sonic nature. I love how unique the sounds are!! Not the same old Roland, Yamaha, Korg menu, but some really different flavors. I have let go of lots of other gear since getting the QM arsenal. The Sirius is most similar to the 309 but really does a heck of a lot more, but in my opinion it does not replace the 309 either...im keeping that puppy too. :} Get a Sirius NOW while they are cheap......my guess is that in a few more years they will not be cheap. I love QM stuff so much, Im even tempted to hunt down a Technox, Caruso, Cyber 6, Third Hand, etc. But I have heard that Quasar unit really sucks....but I have never heard one. The Sirius is such a sweet size too. 4 octaves of full-size keys, yet it seems small & compact. I love the Sirius. Its definately a keeper.

This machine is a milestone in synth creation.Ive tried the lot,JP 8000,AN1X,NORD LEAD ETC and for value, build, ease of use and specifications eg.Polyphony and multitimbrality this synth comes out on top. The sounds are superb and cover a wide range from deep bases to bright pads.I personally use this machine for IDM and techno but ive used it on varioius jungle and trance tracks. All the other synths out there at this money and beyond dont come with polyphony and the ease to get a track done quick without havin to sample riffs and chords like the nord etc. Tho it has been out 4 years now the editing functions on this beast allow you to produce the most cutting edge sounds and with the drum sounds and vocoder ur laughing my friends. Go buy one and see what i mean. RIP QUASIMIDI

This is the most fun I've had with any musical instrument! For those that dis it, there is absolutely no way that you know what it's capable of, or were too impatient with learning how to use it. It has the tools to create entire songs, quickly and easily. What else can you ask for, you want it to write the music for you, what fun is that? The vocoder isn't great when used with the mic I will admit, but after experimenting with it on the internal percussion and synths, I will give the vocoder some credit. The synth section is in your face, with some aggressive bass sounds and outstanding pads that will rip yr speakers apart. The programmable arpeggiator is what I love most about the Sirius. Perfect for Trance styles. I use a Nord lead along with the Sirius and jam all night long. That's right I JAM JAM JAM BABY!!!!! That is what the Sirius is built for. I bought it because I am tired of playing with a mouse staring at my computer screen. Instead of sitting, I am bouncing to the Siruis' sweet beats. Its all hands on now and I could not be happier. Also the beat recognition system works great, so if you dj, this is the perfect addition to your set. Squak Box? Thats bull. The Sirius is my friend til the end. Buy one if you ever get the opportunity.

Lush, pristine arpeggiations are the hallmark of this great synth, aside from the drum machine which, if used in conjunction with the lfo filters, one can achieve some interesting percussion loops for both house and techno. Personally I have been using it for more trance based music, utilizing the pads and gritty basslines that i accentuate with the arpeggiator. Very pHatt type bass sounds that you should take advantage of. Also, the German engineering cant be missed: one of the few synths that sound great out of the box, without any mastering, what a deal!
