I was always searching for a controller that had a great feel and a very good piano....look no further....the roland A90 is the best i have come acrose...I love the realism of most of the presets...some are not so useful tho... I agree with most of the comments that i have read... planning to get the expansion board for this unit... this is board is very sturdy ...built like a hummer...never had a problem... This is definitely a classic board...i don't think i would trade the A90 for another.... I want my children to play this keyboard...

I have had a Roland A90 for a couple of years, I love the keyboard especially, the only keyboard I know of that has 4 midi outs.. The only draw back is If something goes wrong with it be prepared to find another keyboard to use while yours is being fixed. It may take up to 4 or 5 months to get them to send you parts. I know from experience..

Sounds like capacitors, have them check the board with an ESR meter. Electrolytic caps leak over time (usually 12 years) but shorter sometimes depending on how much heat its subjected to. I've replaced hundreds and hundreds of capacitors on everything from TV's, VCRs, DVD players, video cameras etc. Synths are no exception as they are based on the same electronic rules and parts.

An ESR meter allows you to test capacitors without taking them out of the circuit.

Sorry guys for jacking this page, but I just wanted to help out.

Hi all. How cool to read everyone's reviews of this much loved beast! I've had my A-90 for about 7 years, and with it I've played gigs across the country in a Metal band. I even did a whole film soundtrack with it! I too have found it reliable, (it even fell off the back of a quad bike!); and a pleasure to play, wouldn't trade it for anything. Currently running it through a Proteus; mind you I've found that it really does compliment any sound source that it's hooked to. All the hail the A-90!!! Rgds
