Like I said before Alpha series are hold overs to the D series Roland needed extra cash to support the D-50 project Ect..Alphas are nice for a low budget synth!!

SableIsTekk a part-time user from Los Angeles California (USA) writes:
The Alpha Juno 2 impressed me greatly, not only for it's price, but for sound quality as well. This is an Analog synth, so dont expect Danny Elfman type melodic orchestras. But do expext clicks, bleeps, wurbles, oww-wees, sweeping death pads, eeriee choirs, and that unfogivable Ruffneck gabber sound. If you love sound and music (especially experimental/techno/industrial/gabber/speedcore/hardcore anal terror, this synth is the gateway drug my friends.

il_budha a hobbyist user from The Netherlands writes:
Had this around 1990. Was initiately drawn to it for its relatively low price, its touch sensitivity (which isn't that great because I didn't like the keyboard-action) and a positive review of its presets in Keyfax 2 (I think).

What's good about the Alpha-Juno, and Juno's in general (I also had a Juno-6), is the substantial and robust sound. That isn't to say they sound really fat (they don't), but there's a certain fullness to the sound which is quite pleasing, especially at the price. Basses are good on it, as are some organs; strings are not too bad, but effects are limited due to the coarse volume-range of oscillator-noise. All-in-all, soundwise, the Alpha Juno's are not quite classic but decent analog polysynths. Shame about the DAC; if you want a Juno for learning substractive synthesis, buy the Juno-6, which isn't as overvalued as the 106 (and even 60).

A good synth, not a classic though.

Amine Berrada a part-time user from Morocco writes:
Just bought a Juno 2 yesterday, and I am very happy : I got out some incredible punchy fat sounds out of it. Of course I am using an effect unit for reverb and delay. Actually I am completely amazed, cause the Nova which I own, sounded a toy compared to the fatness of the Juno 2. I don't like all of the Internal sounds, but mines are kicking asses. Great strings and pads, and even plugged sounds can be programmed to beat all the new competitors. I love techno music, and the Juno 2 will make me love it more... 5/5 Not versatile though, but don't forget it is an 1986 product.

Cosmonaut a professional user from Saturn writes:
This is a beast of a synth. The tonal quality is incredible, and it's great for soundscaping. Overall, it's a very user friendly synth. 80's technology can be beautiful sometimes.
