The alpha juno is great! Really easy to use/learn-to-use and you can make very nice sounds on it... Especially bass sounds.. But unfortunately the pg300 programmer is rather hard to get, and an extra cartridge pretty expensive.. ( for a cartridge)

Chris Reed a part time user from US writes:
The AlphaJuno-2 is easily one of my favorite synths. The best way to describe the sound is "super mellow". It's difficult _not_ to create mellow sounds with it. (of course, this could also be a reason to not like it), due in part to how noisy it is (esp w/ chorus on) and the fairly weak filters.

A huge plus is that the relatively simple voice architecture (opposed to i.e. a Matrix-1000) makes it quick to learn exactly how changing params will affect the sound; you can safely edit voice params during a live performance to great effect.

Cons: the interface is slightly annoying but not impossible, just too many btn pushes to select and edit params... the Brilliance and Env mappings for the alpha-dial are excellent but should've been separate sliders... not multitimbral... mediocre MIDI implementation... it's hard to find a unit that still has fully working aftertouch...

Overall a beautiful synth, with some quirks.
