I bought my D-5 for only US$ 200 (2nd hand), unfortunately i don't have ROM card for music arranging.
I like the sound since I could modified voices which available built in.
If any of you have information where to find it, please mail me.

As a startup synth, you can enjoy it very much.
The only complain that I have, are the terrible key's. They guest vanish every time when I'm in the middle of a performance.
The brass sounds are loveley, as the strings...
But really, I can't miss him :-)

i've used the D-5 from '89 to 96 ( and stopped due to repairs) and have been impressed with the character of the sounds even though they may not necessarily match up to more professional level synths. However, with a bit of clever tweaking and some imagination tossed in for good measure, no professional synth can ever reproduce the sounds of the D-5 with as much character and personality. It's simply the best for fat, Phat
analog bass and analog brass. It was my first synth (next to a sequential circuits
600 and Roland SH-101) and will forever remain in my progressing arsenal.

I've used the D-5 from '89 to 96 ( and stopped due to repairs) and have been impressed with the character and personality of the instrument. The
analog bass, brass and string sounds were good and I like the piano sounds as
well. Whenever I found myself to be aching for a new synth but did not have the money to buy, I would dig deeper and come up with more new sounds that I had not discovered. I've reinvented the palette at least four or five times.
They way I see it, you already know what it can't do, so challenge yourself: buy it and see what it can do!!! Take it to the limit and set your imagination in overdrive!

Well i must say the people at roland who programmed the presets for the
D-5 didnt take there time, most of the sounds besides the synth leads and bass's
are very unrealistic,
but luckily the sounds you can synthesize from them make this keyboard
an excellent keyboard,
a couple of things that really stand out on this instrument is the drum sounds
and the bass section, in my opinion the drum sounds outbeat alot of newer drum machines, its to bad that theres not a sequencer in there, but of course
you can always pull them out with another drum machine, and for the bass section, it just has to be heard, the bass section is the entire reason i bought
this keyboard, but this keyboard has alot more surprises that i never expected
when i first bought it...
