I got one of these way back in the day for like $1200 and later sold it for $900 but I missed it ever since. I ran across one a few weeks ago on eBay and got it for $78 and the thing is like new! Pretty darn cool for a vintage sampler/keyboard! I've begun using it, I think I like it just becuase it was so ahead of it's time!

DJ Jeremy a professional user from The Netherlands writes:
This sampling workstation is a beauty for musicians. The keys play good and the posibilities are very wide. Making partials and using the filters it's far from old and still recently very usefull for a life performance. Connect a Roland MC-80 sequencer and your ready to rock the crowd! I have this multi-funtional station for more over 10 years now and it is still working good. The only minus could be when you are using it to a maximum, what I always do, to check if everything works correctly this workstation has a hard time catching up with the programmed performance and might skip a note. But that's only when you using it like I do, extremely high performance. If you know how to handle the scratch pad it sounds awesome. There will be an life performance soon so check that out if you want to see and hear what this workstation is worth buying for. DJ Jeremy. www.jeremyzeeman.nl Thank you.

Just sampled a few waves from the Clavia Nord and it sounds really big!!! Just add a hardware-sequencer and you have a 8 multitimbral Nord-sounding workhorse ... ihhhhh!

Lee Raine a professional user from Cleveland, England writes:
Me and the boys (Benzaes Clique) just got the dj70 mkI, and it's definatley worth getting, I mean we're an awkward heavy rock group and the way we see it the possibilities are endless, in a song we have about ted bundy the inro has a girl crying over it and it adds so much more depth to the meaning of the song and it sounds real disturbing too, all we did was rip a load of sounds ofthe net and wack 'em straight on to the dj70 and then on to disk, it's still early days as far as user profficiancy goes but without the online manual at www.rolandus.com we'd be going nowhere at all, I just registered on the U.S site with an address and telephone number off the AT&T site and once you've logged in there it is in all it's glory the dj70 manual (among others in the manuals section). So as there's very little about these machines online I thought this post might help others who are in the same position we were in a few weeks ago, we certainly could've done with the help, so no matter what music you make or are into you should get one of these and to hear examples of proper use of check out mike pattons work, enjoy.
