This was my first sampling instrument and I learned it very quickly...great sampling capabilities with it. The scratch wheel is too big and wouldve prefered without it, the keyboard couldve been that much smaller then. If you can get the DJ70 MKII for under $800 then I would say you will be in love!

this sampler is one of the best and easiest to use. i would recomend it to everyone. and for those of you who think the scratch pad is useless, i beg to differ. theres nothing like having complete pitch randomness and controll at the tip of your fingertips.

I Have the Dj70mkll and I think it's the bomb I remember walking into guitar center and there it was a used model so I bought it and Im happy with it. The sound quality is much warmer than any Akai. The only complaint I have is that it only has two audio outputs I'd be cool if it had more then it would be a real workstation but I can live with that it still rocks! What I do is go to page #3 I think or is it page 2 well anyway I pan my drums to the right and the rest to the left and put the outs to different channels of my mixer and there I have two outputs put bass in the drums and you know the rest. If you want good sample editing, good sound quality, good looking keyboard, this is it. They aren't to expensive for what it does ussually between $600-$800.

Yeah and the scrach wheel rocks!!!
