The 770 was my first and i never new how good it was until i read all these reviews . thanks guys . i love my machine. Although in my opinion the memory is a bit small. But if you have any recording gear or a sequencer, for example; Cubase, then you should be fine. IF you want to do your self a favour then buy a 770.

I bought this one for $350+tax from retail music store. It is the best drum machine I have ever used, and I have used many!It have the East Indian TABLAs I love so much and it is the ONLY ONE with ROLL that really rolls the sound in record and realtime.Go figure the MC505 for $1200 retail does not even have that roll and flam button!!The unit has 4 outputs and great powerful sounds but the effects(ambience) is not recordable per kit/pattern.In all it is the only drum machine I would ever use for live and studio work,Yes the sampler is better for sounds but the rolls used in ethnic music are more important to me.

I think the drum has a lot of features and the amount of space for user patterns and songs is great, but I have found what I believe is totally Unacceptable in a drum machine. You cannot append a pattern unto itself or onto another pattern. Without this it is basically impossible to build patterns more than 8 beats long. I am going to get rid of mine if I can't find a work around. Anyone have any thoughts!!!1
