OK, I bought my E36 from a secondhand shop. Some sounds were impressive, but all in all, it's a GM sound set with a few variations here and there. I can't seem to find any music style cards for it. If you have any info, please let me know.

Miserable. The third-generation Roland E-series was a rip-off, with the exception of the E-86. Why shell out the money for the E-36, when it was no different from its predecessor, the E-35. No new styles, no new tones. In fact, they even took out the pitch bender lever, and the LCD display.

The E36 contains a huge number of hidden features which can only be accessed via MIDI, these include a low pass filter and the ability to change attack, decay and release times of the filter and amplifier. When used with the E36's synth bass sounds these features can produce some killer TB 303 noises, the TR 808 drum set can also be edited over MIDI.
