This EG 101 is one of the best keyboards in sound and is not expensive in comparison with the actual market. Most of it's features to change sounds are to be saved with an external sampler or an audio recording system. Even though it has an internal sampler, it's capacities are very limited. The most convenient feature is it has an internal amplifier wich helps electronic musicians connect many modules to a mixer like the DJ 2000 in to the audio input instead of using a large personal amplifier by your side in a live performance.

The EG-101 is like having a car with good steering, brakes and road handling although with an underpowerd engine. The DJX in conmparison has a more powerfull engine but has poor steering and brakes. On the EG you can always soup-up the enginge by adding a sound module which is much easier then replacing the steering, brakes and suspension

It's a good keyboard and you have a lot of sounds. I had a lot of keyboards like Korg but Korg you have to be a rich man for have it and me i found in eg-101 a good price for a lot capabilities. Everybody Yamaha is the worst i byed that and every keyboards from them is SHIT.I recommend the EG-101 it's not expensive and now my songs plays in a club! For everybody you have to try a keyboard more than a week for say it's shit ok me i'm a professonal and i try long time a keyboard like some months to see what can i do whit a keyboard and after that i can say if it's shit or not EG-101 is not a shit beleive me...... Or if you are a rich man buy Korg trynity or korg Triton it;s the best keyboard in the world. Don't have enough money for Korg Triton? buy Eg-101 it's a good machine Pat

Everyone is moaning about how crap the EG 101 is. I tried it for the first time today and it is not a bad bit of kit. Ok it may not live up to the standards of other grooveboxes (sounds wise) but it is a great starting block to compose new tunes. There are many variations still to be discovered on the EG101-Have some fun!! At £250 it is a real bargain and I reckon it is better than the DJX (Roland have always been better than Yamaha!)

I've owned the eg-101 for a few months. I like it. Synth heads might bash it for it's simplicity and lack of sequencing abilities, which are completely justified, but it's phenomenal bang for the buck quotiant outweighs these critics. I payed 650 new in canadian funds. It's in my rig because I need a midi controller for the p.c ya see. Bottom line it's a cool toy. p.s. the classic synth styling of it kicks booty.
