Jamal a professional user from USA writes:
This keyboard is amazing still. I've had it for 4 years and this thing is a beast. I make golden era hip hop and all my music is mostly sample based. I sample stuff in this machine and all my samples sound beautiful. The drum pads are not the best but get the job done. The sequencer is simple but got all the features I need. The keys are great. I love the big lcd screen. To bad its not color. It does not have allot of outs so Isolating sounds can be a pain. I just side step that and record from the main outs. I'll start balancing a song in the keyboard with pans and all.

The sound quality is great so I don't have to multitrack it out. Some engineers may not like that but I make hip hop so who cares. The internal sounds are top notch and you could make any kind of music with stock sounds. I got a few srx cards inside mine machine also. Another bad point about the Fantom S is that you can only use smart media cards to save data. If you can find some smart media cards good luck. Good thing it has USB. I always run out of space on my card so backing it up to a computer is a God send. I maxed out the ram.

Pros: Great keyboard, excellent sound quality and very reliable. cons: can only save to Smart Media Card and only 4 outs.

Very good workstation synth with great sounds, effects and sampling. Keyboard has a nice feel and srx expansion possibility makes Fantom S excellent synth.

Japs a professional user from Hungary writes:
I'm using a Fantom S88, I thought that i can use the sampler so no matter how does the internal patches sounds , finally i changed my mind. I don't use the sampler part, just the internal sounds. Great hardware. And so, I was using loads of hammer-mechanic keyboards in the last ten years, and i always broke the keys. But with the FS, i can't play hard enough to destroy them. I'm so happy to have it. Cheers

i'm using a fantom s......before this iwas useing a triton classic..i think fantom s is a better workstation...see every wrkstation has its own speciality..like the sequencer of fantom s is a bit weak than the triton i feel....but overall fantom is a better choice...

Eric a part-time user from Canada writes:
The first reviewer is way off the mark. This keyboard/workstation is an excellent bargain. I have to agree with Rik. I have a ton of Roland gear and the FS along with my V-synth XT just rocks.
