Rik Ahnyx a professional user from USA writes:
The Fantom S rocks, I love it, it sounds great and recording is the easiest hardware sequencer I have ever used. The Korg Triton and other Korg workstations have a more user-friendly interface, but the pads on the right side of the synth add the MPC style inputing of notes for step recording and that steals the show from other workstations! I hate the fact the Fantom X series came out six months or so later with a COLOR lcd screen, double sample DIMM memory, etc....but I think 256mb sample memory will do JUST FINE! That blows 64-96mb's out of the water! I had 5 Korg Tritons in the last 5 years, I am VERY happy I moved on to the year 2003-2004 with my FANTOM S. The COSM effects are wicked!! I write alot of EBM INDUSTRIAL/SYNTHPOP/TECHNO for my band SEVERA and the industrial style Overdrive/Distortion works great for vocals! Re-sampling and MIX recording samples internal sounds and sequences so you can put them on the PADS and trigger sequences from the PADS!auto-slice/divides into new kits automaticlly..sample an old skool cd/lp and chop out individual hits, kicks, snares, etc for a custom drum kit! I cant stress how cool this synth is!! Get them now for cheap online now that the Fantom X is out..I got mine in great shape for $900!!!!!!!!!!
