I purchased my HS-60 for $280. It is worth every penny. Experimented with 106 and HS-60 side-by-side. Identical settings. The HS-60 sounds fatter/warmer than the 106 as far as I am concerned. Sold my 106, kept the HS-60.

I have opened the damn thing up to un plug the speakers, and it says nice and clear on the mother board juno106/hs60 ...

IT IS A JUNO 106 WITH A BULITING SPEAKER AMP! no difference other than it being slightly warmer.

the same as a Juno106, has a extral speaker amplifier , the speakers are cool , but it is nice to put a disconnect switch on them . sounds 80ish , the reason being a lot of 80's songs used Mks 70s wich produce similar sounds , I have always liked the JX8p,and that series of synths sounds a little better. and more editable functions , but if you like a juno 106, you will like the punch of the HS60 a little better. it hits !! regards Jason D

""But after picking this up, i dont remember the 106 sounding as fat, ""

I had this problem with a Juno60 . Warmer more powerful than my Prophet 5 and with --BASS-- OK its down to the chorus and it`s a bit limited complexity wise but who cares for £150 . I got £800 for the overrated unreliable weedy prophet.

i had both the 106 and the hs60 at the same time. i sold the 106 because it was worth more. but i assure you that the hs60 -does- sound fatter. i believe it is related to the speaker amp driving the signal (my theory anyway).

sold the pretty board for $450. got the hs for $125.
