I play with this lil monster daily at work, and i must say, no matter how bad my hatred for Roland burns, i do like this keyboard, I never really looked into it, seeing as how it oly has 2 parts, and the competition like nord and access has up to 16 parts, and also the roland effects compared to most suck. I was also not used to sliders for the cutoff and reso as opposed to knobs, i was first taken back. But after i played with it i saw that you could use two find\gers to move the sliders at the same time! big discovery huh? Still it was cool to me. Ribbon controller, many knobs, portamento. Killer realtime control and the synth is built like a mini tank.
Now the sound, very good, of course some presets suck, but what synth has 100% good presets, but when you find a cool sound ans begin maipulating it, thats when you see the beauty of this synth, the sound were so amazing, very analog, and very inspiring, The sound alone made me forget the 2 part limtiation, crappy effects, and the new price tag.
Bads, he... well its got the roland name on it, 4 parts woudl push me to buy this synth, and more patch storage, but thats always a wish, also a button on the outside that just turned on Distortion, i have no idea why companies forget this feature, korg did well with the ms2000 in that aspect, but roland cant seem to catch on.
Overall, id say if you can get one for undo 800$ do it, its a good VA. Maybe i will get one later on.
