My first real analog(well, hybrid that it is). Overall, I love this synth. It's simplistic nature makes it fun(and sometimes frustrating) to squeeze as many different sounds as possible out of it. Eventually, a lot of it's sounds start to sound the same. But just about nothing(except the Jupiters) can touch the pads. And of course you've heard about the bass If you want sequence control, forget about it. This one is better off being PLAYED live, and as such it's tweakability makes it a pro at this. I actually find myself practicing slider changes(timing, patterns, etc) to make for one hell of an experience. This is truly a fun synth. Sometimes you'll love it, some days you'll hate it. But like a good dog, it's loyal, and keeps coming back for more.

I have only used a Juno 106 personally but last night I saw Satisfact(a very good local new wave band) and was very impressed with the sounds conjured up from their Juno 60.If you like rockin bands who use synths this band is worth a listen. And if you like messed up hard, spacey rockin music with nuts vocals and good taste in album layout, check out the VSS.On their new record ,Nervous Circuits,They employ a Juno 6 to it's fullest extent.Their old stuff is also amazing but does not have synth. So here is my opinion:I have yet to here any juno I haven't wanted to make love to.

I had one a few years ago. A great synth: easy to use and a lot of warm sounds inside. It´s perfect for pads and big bombastic sounds. But make sure you buy a Juno-60 in good condition. My Juno died about a year after I bought it. And with the money I had to pay to bring him alive again, I could buy another one. So, don´t ever abuse a Juno 60 ! Handle it with care! It will reward you with great sounds. For the money, a great synth.

Very easy to use. The manual is not needed (it really does not help anyway!) Cool sounds to check out: "31" is the original bass sound. Here is a hint for how wicked it can be. Activate patch 31. Turn the arpeggiator on. (just normal) Push the hold button. Nothing special but then, gradually move the pitch bend wheel slowly to left and then to the right and you have a sound eqivalent to that of a slasher movie! Start this sound then fill in with a drum machine and you are well on your way to creating a very trippy piece of work. I paid $529 dollars (yeah I know I was ripped off). Most pay around 300 but I'm not sad. Sound "72" is graet for beginning a techno song. You can really start making it cool when start playing with the sliders. DID YOU KNOW THAT THE BANDS "THE CRYSTAL METHOD" and "OLIVE" use this synth? They do! The Roland Juno-60 is all over Olive's latest release "Extra Virgin". I'm going to see the Crystal Method live soon so I tell you if they use it a lot.
