The JV-1000 is a great keyboard and can do alot - especially if you have the right Expansion board - all in all it is a great keyboard - back then and now - AS 76 note midi controller with one or two modules and live performance it is great - Action and feel none like it - even today! So if you can find one, buy it... The seq is ok but we have computers for that now... Sounds are classic Roland - can be noisy recording with... so watch for that- bought mine about 6 months ago for 160.00 and I love it....

I have this problem, when I play (hard, a gig), the keyboard turn off and on, is not so good when I play live, also in a studio. What happen? It is a voltage regulator problem or a switch, cable? If you have a answer to my question, please send me a email at : netgars@hotmail.com I like my JV-1000 and I would like to keep this beast for a long time.

Actually, before i go unto this bussiness, this superb synth(JV1000)is my dream kbord and this is highly imposible for me to acquire at that time(1995)but i promised to myself that 1 day he will be mine.finally, after only 2 yrs i got this unit, not only one but 2!i really love this kbord not only because of its realistic sounds but also his outlook, separated LCD for patches and seq...i prefer this unit compare to my roland xp-80.

I have had my JV 1000 since 1994,,lately its been turning off and then back on while playing it at gigs. b4 repairing it I am glad I found this site it very well could be the solder in a voltage regulater or a bad on/off button,,or stage vibrations causing this. The other night it was fine for the first 2 hours then started going off and on the last 90 min of the gig. I could reset to piano on the fly but it happened too frequently so I just used my alleseis the top keyboard,,the jv 1000 has always been my bottom keyboard,,,now mostly used only for Piano,,Clav and Digi Rhodes. Can't decied to repair it or replace it since I just need Piano,Clav, and Rhodes sounds on my bootom keyboard.

Had my JV-1000 for over a year and love the feel of the keyboard. Polyphone is definitely a limiting factor, but the piano sounds I get from the keyboard far outweights the problem. I am currently working on a prototype hardware to be able to remove the floppy drive and replace it with an SD card adapter. Hope I can get it to work, but would benefit everyone who loves the JV 100 and want to keep it as a master keyboard!
