The only rack you need! Even better than the new xv series.

An all around great box. Sounds good, not too difficult to program.
My biggest complaint is that the factory ROM is lifeless and uninspired compared to virtually every other ROMpler I've ever owned. Roland makes up for it by having excellent expansion boards that actually do have very good ROM sets.
Definitely a solid addition to any studio, and it is what the JV-1080 *should* have been.

still the mainstay in my studio

a updated ver of 1080,more functions, bigger lcd(like jd990),more effects(can assign independent efx tup to 3 timres),huge 8 exp slots(i exp it w/ 60/70s key+vintage synth+hip hop+techno+world+orchestral one+orchestral 2).but does it really means my/your music better?no.more unique?no.its just a tool, and its a universal tool actually, everyone using one,and now the xv series, hope our creativity can overcome the over-standardised factory sounds (w/ limited editing possibilities).again,as my review on jv1080,i felt the sound of the newer jv are worse than the older ones like jv880/1000,especially on bass.don't laugh.

Great machine. VEry Versatile Bjorn needs to learn how to program.
