Niels..... What Jimmy says is true. They are the same synth, except the jv2080 has a bigger display, more expansion slots, and some more affects. That's all. Otherwise the same thing. They sound identical. In addition to the techno board, vintage, get the sounds of the 60's and 70's. This**or a jv1080** is a techno beast!!! I mean it Rocks! Get your favorite sequencer, a controller, and you can give birth to some cool, techno, dance, hiphop, trance, or anything else, tracks!! Oh yea, the JV will do TB303,808,909, tracks convincingly. Why are people paying money for all this "groove approved" grooveplops, when they could just by this one, and have more freedom, choice, and options? I guess they don't know any better.

There really isnt TOO much of a difference between the 1080 and 2080..there IS however and extra bank of sounds on the 2080 that you wont find on the 1080 (Bank 'E')..the only thing i find interesting about the 'E' bank is the pads in there are very warm and luscious, and may make you fall asleep..very very nice..couple a JV with the techno and vintage synth boards and you have a powerhouse synth that will rival ANYTHING out there...

What`s all this about the JV-2080 being a great
beast for Techno ? I`m using a JV-1080 with a
Techno-expansion board and i`m very satisfied so
far. Would it be worth it to get rid of my 1080
and get a 2080 ( or are the "techno-sounds" on the
2080 no different from those on the Techno-
expansion board??). Can anyone comment on this ?
