Syd. a professional user from Manchester, England. writes:
I just can't believe the disrespect people show towards this synth. It's this, it's that! The midi...boring. This is one of the best synths of all-time. A great masterpiece. The prices are just mad! $300 from a shop with a pg800! They usually charge me $300 to walk through the door when I go into a music shop. Did they pay for a taxi home by any chance? The sounds are lush, crazy, cutting, new-age, whatever you want. This synth's used everwhere by people who know what they want and know what they are doing. If you are a dealer silly enough to sell one of these for $300, chucking in a pg800, you deserve to go out of business. If you are a musician you deserve a 106..nuff said!

keith a part-time user from England writes:
This is a monster synth. Great programming, great build quality and great keyboard. It is an hysterically underrated synth which can be picked up for a tad more than a 106. Funny enough, if you switch most of it off it sounds like a 106. The pg800 is a must. It lets the machine do itself justice. What's all this nonsense about the jx being cripled, destroyed, embarrassed by its syst ex? I've got a room full of old 'classic' gear which can't interface with anything, including me half the time. This synth should be considered up their with the very best synths and should be worth a heap of cash more. If you are thinking of buying one of these beasts, jusy do it. You will not be disappointed. Roland really knew what they were doing when they built this beauty. A lot of this old gear is hyped to death. The jx certainly isn't. Don't let the syst ex. story put you off. I owned and played a prophet 5 for 11 years and it wasn't a patch as good as this monster.

Morten Haug a hobbyist user from Norway writes:
I used to play alot some years ago, and I thought of getting back in the sadle. So I went down to our local instrumentshop and there it was; the JX-10 with the PG800 priced at 300$. The unit was in good shape, so I bought it without hesitating. I've been using it as a mastersynth for creating music on computer for some time now, just waiting to afford a better master keyboard (weighed etc etc). It's original sounds isn't all that good for the most, but with the PG800 up the sleeve, I've done some nice things to it, and I'm incredibly impressed by the fat sounds it can produce.

Pete Kim a hobbyist user from Hawaii writes:
Just got mine over eBay with anvil case, a PG-800 controller, and a couple cartridges. What can I say? The thing sounds awesome with the chorus on "2"....especially the warm pads, the square wave sounds, and the analog brass. PG-800 is definitely a "must buy" to quickly program basic fat sounds....I was zipping around tweaking and switching parameters to get the classic JX sounds. Just obtaining this board for the sawtooth pads was worth it. I will never ever let this one go.
