I've had this synth a while. It sits with an XP80 and an EG101, so I figured it would complement them - the XP80 is my main axe and all round workstation, the EG101 does rhythm and leads, and I got the JX10 cos I heard it did brill pads. I don't have the PG800, and I must admit I've been disappointed with the board as a whole. It would make an ace master keyboard for my EG101, but the factory presets are nothing to shout about. I've managed to get a halfway decent lead out of it without the manual and PG800, but it's usually a case of hit a button and hope for the best! And that's just saving the sounds... The hours I've lost cos the soddin' thing wouldn't save... anyway... Having said all that I do like the pad sounds a lot, and the fact it says 'Super JX' on the front and back makes it look really cool at gigs. I have to admit to taking it to gigs and not plugging it in. I just leave it there looking mighty and cool... but that's how sad I am. I'm thinking of swapping it for a Yamaha CS1x, cos they look more usable, and the sounds are more easily tweekable. Just toying with the idea. ADVICE FOR POTENTIAL BUYERS: Make sure you are prepared to shell out for a PG800, which sometimes costs more than the board itself. Make sure it works with the amp you're using (mine buzzes like hell). Make sure you are prepared to spend days editing the cheesy eighties sounds onboard. I give this synth a 4/5 for potential, it's just that I'm to cack handed and lazy to bother with it. All other cack handed and lazy musicians beware...

This synth sounds like the history of pop and newage all rolled into one. It not only looks awesome but it sounds awesome. Talk about broad analog fat sounds with depth and texture, this is the original. It sounds better than my JV-vintage synth card. I just got it and I've been waiting for one for ever. I've played just about every Roland synth ever made since about 1984 and this is my favorite, well, tied with the Jupiter 6 anyways....I got mine so cheap I can't even post it it will piss you off...LOL.....

This synth sounds like the history of pop and newage all rolled into one. It not only looks awesome but it sounds awesome. Talk about broad analog fat sounds with depth and texture, this is the original. It sounds better than my JV-vintage synth card. I just got it and I've been waiting for one for ever. Have owned the JX10 for 2 years now and it sits alongside my Kurzweil K2000 as the most used in my music. Very deep and evil basses and some great screaming leads. Very PinkFloydish and I even had the neighborhood Gladys Cravitzes bitching to the police several times. The Chase Play function has set the tone for some interesting Techno lines for me,but I primarily use it for the deep pads and Gothic style strings. Great feel as a master controller as I play the K2000,my Juno106,and a CZ101 through it. Paid $300. for it and worth every penny and will never part with it. It can define your music!!!!!!!

The SUPER JX-10 is a powerful synthesizer , 12 voice polyphonic , 2 JX-8P's in one box . It's very stable in pitch thanks to it's digitally controlled oscillators , and excellent as a controller thanks to it's generous 76 note keyboard . I also have the PG-800 programmer which makes it as fun to edit as any other analogue synthesizer . It also has a " cross modulation " feature to make some interesting sounds . The SUPER JX-10 was ROLAND'S flagship synthesizer in 1985 , so basically it's one of there last analogue beasts before switching over to the D-50 . I've seen them for as much as $1000.00 with the PG-800 .
