This was my first controller/master. Bought it for $1300 used back in 1989, and got the PG-800 (essential!) for $250. Got it because it was dead sexy looking and sounding. Choked notes badly, especially in chase-play mode, but aah, those pads! have been unable to come close to the shmooov and transparent pad sound #67...I miss it. Sysex suckage made me paranoid, even though I owned no less than 9 M-64c's, and had plenty of amazing sounds, courtesy of the wonderful Walt Whitney. Replaced it with first a Korg T2, and presently a Triton pro. Memories....

I picked up my JX10 about two years back for free. A guy was gettin rid of it and asked me if i wanted it. I had no idea what it was at the time, but since then ive used it nonestop. I doubt ill ever get rid of it. Got great synth sounds, easily programmable and i love the pitch bender and after touch. they are my favorite part.

If you are missing some of the JX10's phat sounds, get a XP80 with the vintage synth board installed...tons of JX10 patches plus thick matrix sounds...this board kicks some serious booty and a helluva lot more voices to thicken things up...the JX is a fat beast...

Correction:
The JX8p and JX10 have DCOs, not VCOs, so its not completely analog. Nevertheless a good synth.
