i found my jx-8p at a pawnbroker for 250.- can$ and after checking it out once or twice i closed the case and never touched it again in five years. but it moved with me from canada to germany, to spain. now i know why i never thought about selling it, it´s a little magical machine.

The JX-8P is a good sounding analog synth. Sounds better than my Juno-106 but is harder to program. The strings and basses are wonderful and I can't say anything bad about the JX-8P's sounds. The only bad thing about this synth is the keyboard quality!!! The keyboard really sux, and I have not ever played a keyboard that bad! You can hear the springs when pressing the keys and sometimes you don't even get a sound when pressing a key. Aftertouch is so bad that I would say this synth doesn't have aftertouch (at least if you play the JX-8P's keyboard). If you are considering buying a JX-8P you must see it as an expander. Use a nice Yamaha-keyboard and play the JX-8P sounds thru MIDI and you will love this synth. It would have got 5 marks if this was an expander, but since Roland sold it as a "playable" synthesizer it gets 3 marks out of 5 possible.

Looking for a PG-800... the prices on eBay are a little steep though. Anyone willing to part with one for a decent price?

I've got a PG-800 kicking around the loft. It's got one slider missing (that is the top plastic bit, the stub is still there so you can still use it). If anybody's interested, drop me a mail and make me an offer;
