I just got mine today. Man do I love this thing. I've owned them all, JP-8000, AN1x, Nord Lead I, II, etc, etc. This thing is just amazing. Yes, it lacks knobs and sliders but I plan on purchasing a PG-800 very soon. I got this synth for $90 so you really can't beat that. The sound of this synth is so full and lush. I like it better than the Juno 106. The keyboard is excellent too. The keys are more weighted than the Junos or JP-8000. An underrated synth for sure. I like it that way. I might pick up another one as backup some day. I don't think I'll ever be without my JX8p. It's a keeper.

had one. sold it. regret it. I want it back!!!! The strings this synth produces are the most gorgeous I've ever heard, and I want it for strings alone. OK, also some fat chorused pads. I just realized how essential the chorus on this synth is. It really makes it's sound. Well, I can't see myself making music without it's strings and pads. It gets a 5 just for those! Oh, and for those detroit techno freaks - this is a super detroit techno synth (although some wouldn't agree with my statement), so go get one!

well, the cleanness... a jupiter-4 it ain´t (that machine spells D-I-R-T), but the jx has a beautiful silky tone and IMHO is the unsurpassed best in "new school" analogue sound. you can always roughen up the sound, and it´s still miles ahead of anything virtual.

but sorry, analog is not for cleaness...anyway.theres good string patch on 8p...other than this,i'll choose the better jupiter/juno series for real/full aspects analog synths.
