awesome mutherfucker!...the mc 50 can do everything...drum sequencing...editng...pattern sequencing...thids machine kicks ass!...i bought mine for $136,it has 2 midi outs and 1 midi in..tape sync, metronome input and an input for a controller...goes well with HD disks...its very accurate...i dont use the rhytm trak...i record all my drum patterns in one of the 8 tracks..cuz the mc50 doesnt seem to reconize the 3 hit pads on my DR 202 machine...i dunno why...i have no manual..i need help from you guys on that one...i use my drummachine as sound modules, that way i can save a lot of space in my drum patterns..very reliable...no problems as of now...id rather use this one than a bulky freakin computer..its handy, portablesequence anytime anywhere...hats of to roland!:)

this little box is very easy and intuitive to use, if you take yourself a little time to get used to it. but sometimes it sends out some notes to my samplers i have not programmed before. i only record notes to phrase tracks, because i cant assign enough sounds of my r8 to the mc50´s drum settings that are used at the rythm track. the only thing it really lacks is a swing option for recorded notes, but you can shift them manually in microscope-edit mode, it just takes some time.

I already had a roland mc-300 sequencer ( upgraded with mrc500- software ). Bought myself this year a roland mc-50 (secondhand )for only 125 euro. Works very accurate. Many functions (microscope-editing,transpose,merge tracks .... easy to work with.Great stuff, no software-seq for me.

My MC500MkII Floppy Drive is giving problems so I bought the S/H MC50 recently. The OS being onboard is a great help.(Hold down the 2 while powering for MRP System). Pity it doesn't have as much memory as the MC500MkII. No problems with HD disks, don't even have to cover the hole. For MRP disk, make data disk, save up to 700k of songs in banks. Config banks up to <100% and add bank with shift/enter. Save playlists with shift/save. Load new disk with shift/record. My only whinge, why is the FD on the side, not the front? Mel
