I`m an analog purist with loads of lovely old hissy analogue synths (and a few nice digital ones as well) and I hated the MC-303. I must confess to being very suprised by the 505. Superb sound engine (basically a modified JV1080) with mad effects and a decent (if you like the old 202 and 808 etc) sequencer. The lo-fi effect is particularly nice and noisy. Apart from a couple of "features" in the MIDI implementation its perfect. A top tool and great fun to jam with as well. Get one. Get two in fact. Cheers, Mat.
