you can put any loop you want in the 4 tracks. If you wanted 4 acidy 303 lines then you can do that. 4 bass lines, 2 leads, 2 bass. 1 lead 3 bass, etc.etc. I sound like that SNL fake commercial (International Change Bank if anyone remembers that from the 80s. haha)

i got one of these off of ebay for 100 bucks just recently. i like the anologue emulations it does they are very nice, the sample thing is kind of cool but im not sure how to fully use it since i dont have a manual. the demo song is reeally cool considering they made it with this one peice alone. the line in effects are cool. i think for 100 dollars its a good deal but i wouldnt pay more

i make music for fun, and picked this thing up yesterday for 150$. i had played with it in the store several times because it was one of those super affordable pieces of gear, well the price dropped like 3 times and at 150 i couldnt say no =) im glad. i could care less about the sounds on the actual unit, now that i found out how much fun this thing is when used as a controller!! currently it's sitting on my desk in front of my novation ks track. wow, you can squeeze some amazing loops outa this thing!! very fun. i will probably end up making noise with it, to spite its obvious techno capabilities. long live the MOS6581.

Hey thanks to all the funky reviews, I got this for only $150 brand new! Cool!! Thanks guys! This thing is very cool in a "wierd" kinda way! Its odd and unusual and does things that other gear wont. Hard to explain but its kinda like a SP202 in that its just got SOUL to it. Those of us who used that machine for years can attest to that feeling. This machine is simply FUN! That's it!! BIG FUN! I dig fun! and the MC-09 is FUN to play with. I may be wrong, but this could be like Petey-G says and turn out to be a much sought after hunk of gear. I would not be surprised at all. Its definately worth owning!

I agree wholeheartedly with Petey-g's assessment. Many here are jumping all over this thing for not being a true all in one box, operational limitations, etc. It's being slagged off JUST like the TB-303 was before its unique attributes were discovered. Well, this box isn't reinventing anything, but the TB-303 sounds it's capable of are the closest thing I've ever heard from any of Roland's latter day ROMplers or VAs, despite ALL of them having obligatory patches that have names like 'SH-101' or 'TB-303'. Trouble is, even with editing, NRPNs and modulation, none of them cut any ice. The MC-09 has the interface and the sound. It's cheap as all hell and it sounds EXACTLY like a 303. So, I can't help but wonder if Roland hasn't sold it down the river so it will have a similar, hard to find legacy like the original TB. Perhaps too conspiratorial, but I can't think of any other reason that they didn't just come out with a potentially battery operated silver box w/ carrying case that had the same feature set as the MC-09 and call it the TB-303 MkII. That would have sold like mad several years ago if Roland had yanked their head out of their pooper. As others have already stated, the sampling isn't the allure here (though it's easy and fun, if not flexible).. It's the TB, end of story.
