Okay, this little cutie needs to be given a chance! It's a little restrictive but after years of playing with one it's kinda grown on me. MUCH easier initially to use than the MC-808 or Korg Triton Extreme (I own both) and with the right amount of mixing the sounds are good. This little box is great for putting ideas into song and then later putting it on the more expensive stuff. A great sketchpad and decent for live music.

I picked up my MC-307 for a steal with the intention to sell the damn thing cos it didn't really excite me.I couple of months later I still had the box and I decided to have a serious look at it...WOW, I wondered why I didn't give a chance sooner. I use it all the time for my hip hop tracks, mostly for its kits and sound fx.

I've had the 307 for a couple of years, it hasn't really grown on me. Not as instantly gratifing as yamaha gear or korg. Great sounds but horrible ui. In fact that seems to be a groovebox disease. Bad manual, bad ui, and cool sounds. Better than a 303 maybe a 505 too. Ill never know because after owning this pretty slim chance I spend more money on a groovebox. To be fair its got some really cool features and fx, plus the sound engine appears to be stronger than most in this class. I guess I've gotten tired of the roland groove line. If I spent the time on it could be worth the money, if like roland groove thangs this might be the one, sounds better than the 505's I've demoed

i haven't got the 307, but i have had the 303 for about five years, and to all you people out there that complain about the 307, or 505, i can make the 303 sound better than any pro sounding gear. i listen to techno on a regular basis, and these so called pros suck. i hear so much crappy techno from famous artists. maybe they should take some time to make a beat instead of traveling everyday....like eminem said, you better lose yourself in the music.

SaxxonPike a professional user from USA writes:
It's pretty decent. First box I worked with, and I continue to work with it today. I mainly write trance music, in fact the track called "What You Never Became" was written mostly with this box, check it out at [ http://www.soundclick.com/saxxonpike ]. The percussion is alright, though I seriously think that they first chose a few good patches, and figured they'd throw in a whole lot of crap just to make the sample bank look impressive. 20 FX you can choose from, you can't really go wrong with that, especially when you can easily configure them. If you're just starting, and you've only got a few bucks in your pocket, grab this box.
