Do yourself a favor and save your money to buy a jupiter series synth. The DCO's of the MKS-70 sounds thin and hollow. Skip it it was a mistake by roland

Just got a mint condition Roland MKS-70 complete with perfect condition PG-800 programmer, I'm very happy with it. Specially after loading new sound banks, it's a very warm sounding machine. Now I'm looking for MKs-80 and programmer to have both Roland's Best from the past, next to my JV1080. Anyone have any M-64C or VR-101/102/103 Catridges for sale with reasonable price, please kindly inform me, I like to buy it. Good work Roland!

Don't mean to be all down on Roland. I'm not.

Get an MKS-70 and PG-800 Programmer. They are wonderful.

When I play the MKS-70 next to my MKS-80, there is no sonic difference.

Skip the MKS-80 entirely. It's overrated crap.

Oh, and also had a JX8P. Sold that as the output is so noisy that when you flip on the chorusing, you get really warm, oscillating huge hiss.

The JX8P is crap.

I'm on my second mks-70. My first machine blew up and I couldn't replace it so I had to buy another. I also have the pg-800 but there are software editors available. The synth a PHAT. It has the standard roland chorus and I usualy use both parts in most of my tracks. As mentioned it is a slow attacker but after around six months of programming I have made plenty of Bass pathes. You can set the output bitimbrally and it is like having 2 analog poly's in a VCR case. I can't recomend this machine highly enough.

I actually tried to copy my MKS70 patches on a Supernova but the end result sounded more like Jupiter-8 impersonations of the same thing. so VOTIV is right, still sold the 70 though., Hi-end DCO boxes like this have their place and can`t really be replaced with VCO machines, fake or otherwise.
