I bought mine for $300 used and it's way worth it. I love it. Even at $450-500, I say buy it now! They don't make them anymore and they are worth their weight in analog. The sounds are all great, it's really easy and stupid to use and they are cheap. There are more usable sounds, ie: killer pads, leads, basses, etc. than any other box I use. Buy if you can find one. You will not regret it

This is a great box! The sounds are superb. There are 256 patches, with barely a single duffer among them. I thought it might be very static sounding - just samples of old synths, but has a very dynamic sound & you can get great feel with just the velocity & aftertouch on most sounds. The effects, while fairly basic (reverb/delay + chorus) are also very high quality.
NB I may be extremely thick, but I have not been able to work out how to save my own multitimbral setups (ie assigning patches to chennels etc) - it seems that as soon as you select a new multipatch, any changes you made to the first one are lost!? It doesn't matter too much, as I just set the patches per MIDI channel with the sequencer, but it does mean I have to have channels 1-7 (& 10) dedicated to the MVS1!

At this price, you shouldnt complain anyway .
