I have a 660, and I need to get inside. So how do you open this baby? I have tried the screws, but it still appears sealed shut, and I hate to pry it open. Is there a "trick" that anybody knows about?

Donnie Gossett a professional user from Canada writes:
I have had the Rhodes 660 since 1991. In general I like the sounds although I am disappointed with the Rhodes piano sounds (as they are inferior compared to other Roland-made Rhodes models). The keyboard is light. However, my largest complaint is the maintenance required for the keys. If not used frequently the sensor/membrane tends to collect grunge and require frequent cleaning. It is a pain as the keyboard has to be totally dismantled in order to access the contact points. I have required it to be cleaned at least every 2 years. After paying professionals I finally learned to do it myself but takes 1.5-2 hours with some rubbing alcohol. It is too bad this key technology requires so much cleaning. I also note that after this many years some of the controller buttons tend to stick as well. Still overall I am a Roland fan and own many other Roland products. I agree with above comments on the choir sounds and the bass sounds are quite good.

Johnny Tomorrow a professional user from USA writes:
I have the rhodes660. what i like alot is the vocal choir when layered over other parts. The brass lines are crisp and give the impression of horns. My only problem is, i have to control it from another midi controller beacuse none of the buttons want to work. If you have one you'd like to part with let me know. I rated the keyboard 5 because for what it is, it gives you what you'd expect. I've had the guts out of it, and could actually build a box for it and have a module. Then i suppose i wouldnt have to worry about breaking any keys that i cant replace. But this one is in such good condition i hate to do that.
