Sexy synth at a cool price.Well, first I thaught of buying a Korg X5D,but the RS 5 rules over,Rs5 has got some of the best sounds put into a synth at this price bracket. The interface does disappoint me and it has got very limited programming, connecting it to a PC is a bit of hedache but when you are performing live this baby will kick ass.I reccomend it for new musicians who can't afford Roland xp30.Look you get those sounds what you will probably get by expanding xp series synths.its far better than xp10. the solo brass sounds are great, and the bass is out of this world. Go get it if you perform live.

Norm Vogel>> The RS-5 is a rompler so you cant really compare it to a Korg Z1 or a Roland JP-8000.

I have an RS-9, I bought it for around a 1000 dollars. I like it vey much, the sounds are great, very realistic. The drums it has are amazing, also the basses, they kick ass. Before I bought this one I went to see some Korgs like the N364(garbage), the XD5(this one is vey nice) and the N1. The N1 would have been my other choice but there is no comparison, the RS series have a richer sound and are not so expensive. With the money I saved I can buy a vintage keyboard and maybe a module for it. I must mention the arppegiator, it is a vey usefull tool for making electronic trance or almost anything. There are about 20-30 types, each specially designed for guitars, synths, drum rythms. Well I must say this is the best choice for someone with low budget who can[t afford a Kurzweil wich are the best keyboards in my opinion and also the more expensive. The RS series have nothing to envy from the yamahas S series or the Korg N,X series.
