To answer Cyberpeppie- no, I think the A30 and the JV-1010 is a decent combination plus you can expand on the JV-1010 soundset. The RS-5 is somewhat of an unusual board in my opinion. The sounds are decent but the programming you can do to the sounds is limited. I think the RS-9 is the keyboard to look at but only if you are wanting 88 keys (and don't care about piano action). I wanted an 88-key controller and I didn't want the piano action (I have enough problems with my wrists as it is). This was the best board for the price- plus it came with some great sounds and controllers. It is definately an upgrade synth and I couldn't imagine using it as my only synth. This is a keyboard anyone from a pro to a bedroom hobby-ist can really get some use out of. It's really all about how it sounds when it comes to keyboards and the RS-5 sounds very professional as it seems to have many of the best XP/JV series sounds in it, plus it has some new sounds from the XV series. Bottom line, you won't find a better sounding keyboard anywhere near the price of this beauty! Now go and get one!

I think it's a very good Synth for the Price. I really couldn't believe the sounds after I got it.I use it with a Triton 61 AND IT REALLY KILLS ALL TRITONS "SOUNDs" problems LIKE THE PIANO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.and what I also like is the Drums on the Rs-5.for the First Time in my life I prefered to like Roland's Drums more than Korg ones on the Triton.it got very Good acoustic Sounds but for any Synth sounds nothing comes to Korg.

I give Roland GOOD credit for that keyboard.it is the Best in it's price and nice choices of sounds.
