I've got the RS 9 now for about a half year, it's wonderfull! The sounds are perfect, the piano is ok, he sounds a bit thin but for a price of € 1000,- it's a perfect machine. The keys are just the same as a normal keyboard. Thats the only thing that isn's "good" about the RS 9. I think that it's one of the greatest synths for the part-time musician and for teenagers without much money. I think that you don't find a synth like the RS 9 for the same price any where else!!!!

Perhaps you would take a look at my site... Fopper

Got my RS-9 last week and the sounds are incredible, lots of acoustic pads, spacial pads (Ixtopia, soundtrack), best-of Roland sounds . not enough bass sounds, too many "imitation sounds" ,ie how many of us will use soprano sax sounds when the real thing sounds a lot better? brilliant drum kits, lots of them too. Anyway can anyone tell me why if i tweak around the effects sometimes on presets eg chorus, split delay or the arpeggio, when i move to another sound, the change is carried over with me and i then have to turn the multi fx off, undo the split, turn the arpeggiator off...please?

Our musician at my church plays the Roland RS9. She is a professional player. She brought me into loving Roland keyboards and their "acoustic-like" sounds. I've played the RS9 and I think it's off-da-chain!!! The only problem is that it doesn't have a sequencer. But, that is fixed with the Roland Fantom. It's hard to find such a beautiful keyboard with awesome sounds, 88-keys, and light-weight under $1,000. If you are looking for a great live perfomance "synth" keyboard, Roland RS9 is the answer.

This synth is a bargain. $995 is what I paid new. 88 keys. Roland says they are 'weighted'. But if so - they are lightly weighted.

I wanted an 88 key weighted action synth. I bought a Yamaha P80, but took it back the next day. The action was so stiff my forearm tendons and fingers were sore and abused. I traded it for the Roland RS-9 and haven't looked back.

This synth is lightweight, beautiful to look at and a breeze to play. It sounds ok too. But I mainly use it with a Yamaha sound module. I don't use the Roland sounds much.

I give this synth a 5. It is a bargain, 88 key almost-weighted action synth. Light to carry, beautiful to look at and it sounds good also. Good job Roland.
