I just got mine from a pawn shop here in Montana for $375. I love this sampler. It's got a punch and unique sound just not found anywhere else. Especially nowadays. The filters are fantastic and the interface is very easy to navigate. The Rack is pretty big and deep so watch out for that.

It sounds great and is easy to use with the monitor and mouse. I've owned one since the late 90's.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE YOU CAN FIND A SCSI CARD for the S550.

u should use the roland custom-made mu-1 for mouse clicking, but its expensive, aorund us$100!!!crazy enuff.for video out,i think ur ok to connect it to common tv using composite video out(yellow rca).if u can use the button on panel w/o any impatient mood,u can do this: holding the no.2 button on panel then power it on,then u can watch the tv and move the cursor by using on panel buttons but no need to use the mu-1 anymore, but god knows when will the panels buttons got worn out after day by day/hours by hours operations,u know the build quality f this kind of buttons not too good, not springy enuff. so good luck to u korean pal,and i'm gonna repair my s550's in/out at this second....chessy old machine w/ a great phatt sounding filter!ooops

Sandro Binetti a part-time user from Bari (ITALY) writes:
I've found it at 150 USD. I think it's been a very good buy. I often use to think of that module as a "upgradable wavetable synth", instead as a true sampler. The TVA filter is magic, you can achieve complex sounds starting from little samples; the envelopes are very impressive, as they follow the key velocity with a great precision. The basses are really great. The 12 bit quantization gives a vintage sign to the sounds it can produce. Do you wanna get more for 150 USD?
