I just got one of these from Zzounds for $199 free shipping and it is fantastic.
It is sitting on top of My SuperJX and I think that this little thing is great. I don't know why so many are complaining about the sound. I really think that the people who are dissatisfied with Roland expect them to reissue the Jupiter 8 with the capabilities of a Virus C all for $499. If you want a Jupiter, then go get one. For the money, you would be hard pressed to find anything that sounded this great.
The arpeggiator is tops. The only thing that makes me mad is that the hold has to be activated with the onboard keyboard. That is a stupid design. The reason is that I always use the arp on hold to design sounds, a habit I acquired from my Juno 60 and my Jupiter 6.
All in all, this one is a keeper.

Look everyone this synth is a great all round analog souding synth for 200 quid! its got character and great fx and a decent usable drum set. When choosing a synth it comes down to the number of parameters on it (the sh-32 has as good as any in the top range of synths) and wether or not you like the actual tones of the synth (all analog synths have saw/square/pulse/sine waveforms but a jupiter 8 square is better than a juno 106 square? right? well no its down to your ears and what you like) which this synth has in abundance as it gives loads of various waveform variations of each wave.

Had this now for 2 months and this box keeps amazing me with the sounds you can coax out of it. The programmeble arpegiator is amazing and the FX can and will ad spice to any sounds you use. The distortion can wreak havoc on a simple sustained string sound and produce some amazing feedback type of guitar sounds. I can only repeat what i already posted earlier - for the price Roland is selling these you CANNOT go wrong and it is an excellent introduction if you are new to synths.

I paid 2oo us and its worth every penny if you know how to use it. First off dont let all the knobs discourage you its really simple if you give it a coulple weeks. When i first got it i got really bored with the sounds even though they are great!, untill i started to tweak the knobs and try diffrent FXs. Ive got a whole wide range of sounds from pink floyd to steppenwolf to the crystal method. Ive created deep phatt bass lines and wicked lead synths too. THe arpegeator is awsome it has 11 to 88 diffrent arps with pogramable ones too but dosent seem to work on all the sounds but it could be me or the machines fault on that one. ITs 4 multitimbrel parts make it well worth it and the drums sound awsome just like the old classics. It remindes me of the jp 8000 i used to use in a studio awhile back. BUt its no jp but close. if youre a begginer I wouldnt recomend this but for the price its worth it to learn. unless you want to buy the yamaha an 200 (monotimbrel) which is a good first time synth to own and learn on but the sounds are not as phatt as the sh-32 and for the same price or more, buy the roland sh 32
