True Rob. But then again, there are only 2 synths I can think of that will keep same FXs, nova series and virus b (and better) series that will do that. I miss some synths I am sure but I think more than 90% of the (any kind of) synths in the synth history don't keep their FXs in performance mode.

There's one thing that's not so cool on the Sh32. I found out you cannot set different effects on each part in performance mode.
So every part will have the same effect :( But ok. The rest is fine.

A lot of people seem to dislike this machine because its not analogue enough. However, this machine's fatal flaw is that it tries to be to analogue (and fails quite a bit). What I mean is that there are some brilliant analogue TYPE synths (like the waldorf stuff) that doesn't sound particularly analogue but what it lacks in THAT type of sound it makes up in other interesting ways (fm, wavetables, huge modulation matrix et cetera)
Then Juno 106 was very popular not because it had a lot of features but because its sound was simply incredible. Unfortunatley, there doesn't seem to be the technology around yet to make digital synths that interesting if they are as simple as the Juno 106 was, and there doesn't seem to be much to the SH-32.

I was browsing throught all the demos of synths on Synthsite and I have to say SH-32 (which I own) is one of the synths with most interesting user sound demos. Not to say which one is better than which, but since SH-32 takes hits so much from being a fake analog, the demos I listened to from A6 users aren't even as remotely interesting as the SH-32's. Obviously, besides taste, it's about how deep you know about your synths. You can produce boring sounds from a real analog and you can produce really more interesting sounds than real analog if you are good enough. Now I am gonna go practise programming my SH-32.

Roland has put out so much crap lately. The first time I saw the (SH)32 I knew it would sound nothing like the originals, (obvisouly). But the Sh32 synth is actually pretty cool, considering the size and money. Its not the best sounding synth but it has some of that magic that most only the older Roland gear has. I'm not really into trance but if I would of bought this by now. The sounds and appregios and Chord function is incredible for thoose trancey melodys. Finally some fresh new sounds Roland came out with for this box, the sounds remind me of an fatter mc505 making love to the Jp8080/8000 and their kid would be a Sh32. Im not going to buy one at least not yet but If you are considering it, go ahead it does a lot of cool things and you could synthesize some fine sounds.
