I just got this machine and I've already got a nice breakbeat going on it, all the sounds are pretty decent, the bass drums are a little flat, the open hi hat sounds pretty terrible, but the snares are great and so is the clap and closed cymbal. The matrix display is a great feature of this machine, so is the volume slider for each sound, i love flicking those!!! I picked this up for about $175 used and it is in near mint condition. As for the sounds i don't like...I can just get a few guitar pedals and hook them up to the individual outs and fuck with the sounds richie hawtin style...YESSSS!!!!!

this is me first drum machine and it is bloody simple to use, even me lil sister can program it. the drum samples are dodgy but for 75 buckaroos, it was worth it. though can anyone tell me how to fatten the sounds? i keep hearing bout guitar/distortion pedals? what's the deal?

This drum machine has the most versatile interface I've seen. The sounds aren't as bad as people say. MIDI out is present-but its limited to one mode only(unfortunately not the quality pattern playback mode which would be really good live). The machine has dissapointed because of this, but its still a steal for the money.

the tr-707 is great to use with another machine. the programming is better than any ive seen. its great for live use. i have it hooked up to a kaoss pad, it sounds insane with some of the effects on there, and use it to accompany my existing tracks. with that in mind ill give it a 5, only because its a good, cheap machine to use in a live setting.
