Joe a professional user from London writes:
The original Electro beatbox, has there ever been a drum machine with more charactor ? Not as punchy as that other 80s classic the DMX but full of charactor and classic sounds.

Steve a part-time user from New Zealand writes:
I have jammed with a few who have dissed it's capabilities... altogether unappreciative of it's qualities... because they prefer the digities... BUT... the 808 can still punch it out. The BOOM is!!! It always will be. My 808 has been with me for 20years and is still my preferred rhythm composer. It keeps the rhythm grounded and still sounds boobastic.

Dancing hi-hatz beffy bass & punchy mids ..full control in the mix ,luvly sound source if you ask me .. the way I see it> the highs sparkel like stars..

I can listen to an 808 for hours and still love the beat- can't say the same for wav files

for thouse that don't know and haven't heard a real 808 in the studio or in a live pa and diss the mother of electro (respect): please open your mind! I'm not saying this cos I'm somkind of analouge purist or a gear freak snob, I'm telling you how it is> the 808 has soul .. the sound is alive/real the feel is human/analouge.. it has soul
