Don't get me wrong, being into classic 80's electro I love the TR808 (not so keen on the 909) BUT come on, how overused has it been?

Sure, get one, do a couple of tracks with it and move on... don't churn out track after track with the same damn sounds over and over again.

I AGREE THE Jomox xbase09 IS THE ANALOG KING HELL I CAN EVEN KNOCK UP A WICKED DRUM PATCH WITH MY ACCESS VIRUS<BUT BEFORE ANYBODY SAYS BULLSHIT I OWN BOTH TR909 and 808 drum machines and in my studio they are more show than they are for work..

This thing is da bomb.......don't believe anyone who says that it can be emulated...........It can't.....not by Novation, Jomox, Proppelorheads..... It's a combintaion of things (sequencer, old electronics, design flaws etc) that give this thing it's groovy feel. 808 and 909 changed music, that's a fact.

And running an 808 thru a Yamaha O1v and using those shitty onboard effects?

Can you say losing all the warmth of the 808?
