I'm 16 and i love my d-20,exept for one thing:My performance part has been erased.
I use it as a midi controller for my AWE64value soundcard,making techno.house,
trance,drum n'base.And it's a kind of funny ,because i paid 1000kr(70$)for it .

I love my D-20 very much.
Tip: Download the GM file from the Roland US website and your D-20 is GM compatible.

I've had my Roland D-20 since 1989. I love it. Although the sounds and sound technology used at the time is now outdated, I still use it for a slave to my PC. I use the sounds and SF2 patches on my AWE64 card. So there's no need to use the sounds on the D20 anymore, however it is still a great machine with good key action and touch sensitive keys. Anyone not liking the sounds on the D20, I highly recommend a good sound card with programmable user banks to make up for the older sounds.

What I loved more on my D-20 was the floppy disk drive and the internal sequencer. It was great to have a whole band to accompany me when I was playing a solo. Great bass sounds and strings. Not good sax and piano. Anyway I was in love with that instrument. I am writing in past tense because now I am using it only for keyboard. My PC now is the Maestro...
