To use the Zup drive you must update the software to version 1.06 but you need to contact Roland to get it.....

i'm lucky to get this mk2,the unlucky thing was to buy a mk1 brand new at around $2000. gthis mk2 has scsi, cheap ram exp to 32 mb,new beat tempo mode, better than mk1. the same good quality sampling like the s770, top-model at the time, but i think and feel its still the top quality sampler today besides emu. the only bad things on mine are:sometimes got errors on scsi transfer, sometimes clippings and got disturbing noise when sampling.otherwise, its perfect.

Roland offers free OS upgrades, so stop complaining. and yes the manual does suck-ass, but if i could figure the damn thing out, then anyone could. It's definetally worth the time to learn this machine!

as was said before, "the best kept secret in the sampling world." this sampler is by far one of the greatest. the scsi drive makes this unit unstopable. i highly recomend this sampler to anyone who is thinking of getting one. AKAI's cannot even compare. Ive worked with the MPC's and they dont even come close to this sampler. and besides.. Mike Patton uses it. need i say more?
