I WILL NEVER EVER EVER get rid of my JD-800. It has the coolest sound, a great design, is easy to use, and plays well with the rest of my gear. I only wish it had a built-in arpeggiator, but I have other gear for that anyway. I slept with my JD-800 one night. I love it that much!

I can't think of a bigger or better sounding unit than this and I demonstrated synths for nearly 10 years. This was and is a very special all-round unit. The real time control and s&s system make it a very powerful and variable unit that has stood the test of time. The strings and brass are an industry standard. Whatever the samples started out like, and they were great, the control makes you able to turn anything into anything.

One of the best PCM synth every made, have all analog control for synthesis, Is very big and have a hundred of realtime controller. The sound is very good but nothing to special, is same of a classic roland pcm keyboard/module, but the realtime control added make a new dimension on a pcm synthesis, manipulate al parameter in real time it makes to seem the better sound...

What a machine! Was there ever a better synth? This is real muscle stuff. Power in every way. Massive lush stuff and it looks cooool! Sell anything but the JD honker. The sliders are fab n' funky. Lets the beast breathe. Put all yer kit in a head to head and this'll win. Moogs, big analogues, big digitals the whole friggin lot sound nothing up against. Makes my Jupiter sound like a Casio.
